Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced, top-tier Regulatory Counsel who will bring extensive experience to Fedi. As our Regulatory Counsel, you will provide expert guidance on all regulatory and compliance matters of the company around the globe. You will work closely with the CEO, General Counsel and external counsel to address such matters, and you will provide forward-looking ideas and guidance to help steer the company.

Responsibilities:

Lead the overall regulatory and compliance strategy, addressing any on-going compliance issues, and developing a strategy to guide us in an ever-changing environment.
Design and build a regulatory and compliance strategy.
Collaborate with the CEO, General Counsel and external counsel to handle day-to-day issues on an urgent basis, and to shape and execute the company’s long-term vision and business objectives.
Oversee all regulatory and compliance reviews and analysis.

Requirements:

A law degree and a license to practice law in one or more jurisdictions.
5-10+ years of relevant work experience for a law firm, fintech, bank and/or financial services regulatory agency.
Regulatory and compliance experience across multiple jurisdictions around the world, including one or more jurisdictions in the global south.
Regulatory and compliance experience related to Bitcoin, including a solid understanding of and interest in Bitcoin.
Working knowledge of key financial services rules and regulations, including BSA/AML, FinCEN and OFAC rules (and their non-U.S. equivalents).

Ability to think strategically and align regulatory/compliance efforts with business goals.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across departments.

Ability to simplify complex legal matters for executive and board consideration and to offer practical advice and solutions.

Annual Salary Range: $80,000 USD - $180,000 USD
